Proposed work to protect the Hayle river bank

October 12th 2021

Cornwall Council has commissioned the West Country Rivers Trust to deliver bank protection at two sites along the river bank using site sourced and other natural materials.  These sections were deemed at immediate risk, focusing on this winter period. Cornwall Council has secured the necessary permissions from the Environment Agency, and works are planned to begin on Wednesday 13th October, subject to weather / river conditions allowing (which appear favourable).  This work doesn’t include the section at Carbis Mill which remains closed for now.
