Play parks and toilets to reopen

July 08th 2020

Following last night’s Parish Council meeting, where a review of the toilets and play parks was discussed and government guidance considered, it has been agreed as follows:

To reopen Battery Mill play park & the Youth Shelter area from Friday 10th July, subject to the appropriate signage being in place. The Parish Council acknowledges the benefit that these areas have to the community but would urge all parents to ensure that they follow the guidelines on the signs (and shown on the Council’s website) and take responsibility for their children whilst using these facilities.

To reopen the Accessible toilet only, for use by everyone, on a temporary basis to be reviewed in September based on current government guidelines, usage and additional costs that will be incurred as a result of increased cleaning. Please be aware that as the toilets have been closed for such a long period we have a statutory duty to carry out some works and as a result the toilet won’t be able to open until w/c 3rd August.
