From 29 June 2026, local authorities will no longer be required to publish the home addresses of elected or co-opted members in councillors’ Registers of Interest.
Section 32A of the Localism Act 2011 means a councillor’s home address must not be included in the public register unless the councillor has specifically asked for it to be published.
St Erth Parish Council will apply this change with immediate effect, in line with the 29 June 2026 deadline. This will apply to all councillors serving on the Parish Council.
Councillors will still need to provide their home address, and details of any land they own, as part of their Register of Interests form. However, their home address will not appear on the public version of the register unless they choose otherwise.
Every councillor must complete a Register of Interests form when they are elected or co-opted and update it whenever their interests change or the information is no longer accurate.
These forms are important because they show any interests that could affect a councillor’s discussions or decisions.
The Clerk and the Monitoring Officer at Cornwall Council hold Register of Interests forms for all St Erth Parish Councillors.
