Penzance Carers Forum Meeting

April 09th 2019

These meetings are run by the Kernow Carers Service and are a free service for unpaid carers to give them an opportunity to discuss the issues they face and have their voices heard in a welcoming and confidential environment, with others facing similar problems.

Many people are unaware of the help they can get because they don’t recognise themselves as carers as they look after a family member or friend. Staff from Kernow Carers Service will be at the meetings, and will be able to give help and advice to carers, including making referrals to Carer Support Coordinators (CSCs) who work directly with individual carers to help them with such things as accessing benefits and services.

Where issues can’t be resolved at the meeting or by a CSC, we attend various other groups such as the Carers Partnership Board and Healthwatch Cornwall where we are able to highlight any concerns our members may have in regard to their caring role.

The next meeting of the Penzance Forum will be held on Wednesday 15th May from 2.00 – 4.00pm at Community Room 302, St John’s Hall, Alverton Street, Penzance, TR18 2QR. All Carers are welcome and expenses will be considered to enable them to attend.
