Council appoints its new Chairman

May 25th 2018

At its Annual Meeting on 15 May, the Parish Council unanimously appointed its new Chairman for 2018-19, Councillor Kevin Buzza.
Following his appointment, Councillor Buzza thanked the Council for appointing him, saying that “it was a great honour to be Chairman” and that he was “looking forward to working hard for the community in his new role.”
He continued that “excellent progress had been made with the Neighbourhood Plan and following the Referendum, the Council’s priorities would shift to: the renovation of the Vestry Rooms to transform them into a community asset; and to secure highway safety improvements to benefit all road users and pedestrians.”
“The Council will maintain its involvement with the Hub project, will ensure that all planning applications aligned with the Neighbourhood Plan and will continue to work collaboratively with others, such as Cornwall Council and South West Water, whose actions had a direct impact on parishioners.”
He concluded that, “as always, the overall aim of the Parish Council was to do everything in its power to improve the quality of life for the residents of St Erth.”
