We have received reports from residents of persons cold calling by telephone stating that they are from the department of work and pensions who give a story along the lines of money being owed or a variation of this. They ask for personal details such as national insurance numbers etc. and they have sometimes been forceful in their manner.
This is a scam. Please do not give out any personal information to any cold caller and hang up on any similar calls. Please inform neighbours of this.
